Emanuel, Emmanuel, Emmanuil or Immanuel are personal names and surnames deriving from (Hebrew: ______, God is with us), a prophetic name used in Isaiah 7:14. The middle letter “m” is doubled in Hebrew causing that single “m” and double “mm” variants co-exist in many languages.
