Bach’s seven Toccatas are early works dating from 1708-1710, (when Bach was between the ages of 58-60) While the toccatas may sometimes not indulgle in much counterpoint and formal structure is compensated by their youthful ardour. Their type of articulation makes them perhaps more suited to the harpsichord.
This piece was used as the soundtrack in a movie called ‘House of Games’ 1987 starring David Mame.
