Rolling Stones

Rolling Stones are an English rock-band formed in London in 1962. The initial settled lineup consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). Jones left the group less than a month before his passing in 1969, having previously been changed by Mick Taylor , who left in 1975. Since subsequently Ronnie Wood is on guitar in tandem with Richards. Following Wyman’s departure in 1993, Darryl Jones has become the principal bassist. Stewart was taken out of the state lineup in 1963 but continued as occasional pianist until his passing in 1985. Other prominent keyboardist for the group have contained Nicky Hopkins , busy from 1967 to 1982, and Chuck Leavell , energetic since 1982. The group was headed by Jones, but after teaming as the group’s song writers, Jagger and Richards assumed de facto direction.

The Rolling Stones were in the vanguard of the British Invasion of groups that became famous the USA in 1964–65. At first noticed for their long-ish hair just as much as their songs, the group are identified with all the youthful and rebellious counter-culture of the 60s They were instrumental in creating blues a significant section of rock music, and of shifting the global focus of blues tradition to the less refined blues typified by Chess Records artists including Muddy Waters , author of Rollin’ Stone, the tune after which the group is named. Musicologist Robert Palmer credited theamazing endurance; of the Rolling Stones to beingrooted in conventional verities, in rhythm and blues and soul songs; whilemore ephemeral pop trends have come and gone;.

The Rolling Stones were inducted to the Stone Hall of Fame in 1989, along with the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. Rolling Stone magazine ranked them fourth on the100 Best Artists of All Time; listing, as well as their estimated record sales are above 250 million. They’ve released albums, eighteen studio twenty nine stay albums and several Let It Bleed (1969) was their first of five straight number one studio and Stay records in the UNITED KINGDOM. Sticky Fingers (1971) was the first of eight straight number one studio albums in america. In 2008 the group rated tenth in the Billboard Hot 100 All Time Leading Artists graph. In the year 2012, the group observed their 50th anniversary.

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger were childhood pals and school mates in Dartford , Kent until the Jaggers moved to Wilmington Jagger had shaped a garage band with Dick Taylor , primarily playing Muddy Waters , Chuck Berry , Little Richard , Howlin’ Wolf and Bo Diddley tunes. Jagger first became re-acquainted with Keith Richards in 1960 at Dartford railway station The Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records Jagger had in his fingers shown a shared interest and prompted their musical partnership. Richards joined Jagger and Taylor at regular assemblies at Jagger’s home. The assemblies changed to Taylor’s home in late 1961, where the three were joined by Alan Etherington and Bob Beckwith.

The five assumed the moniker the Blue Boys.
