Peter Malick

Peter Malick (came to life November 28, 1951, Brookline, Ma ) is an American , Los Angeles-Based musician and report producer , recognized for his perform with blues musicians as well as for early cooperations with Norah Jones.

In the late-1960s Malick was a part of the group Listening. Listening was signed by Vanguard Records in Ny when Malick was aged sixteen. His gift as a blues guitarist got him a show with blues pianist Otis Spann , who encouraged Malick to stay with his family in Chicago Over time, Malick supported and toured with blues greats including Muddy Waters , Big Mama Thornton , and John Lee Hooker.

Afterwards, Malick was a conductor and musical director for the nationwide touring business of Hair (musical).

Malick next joined the James Montgomery Band, recording two records around the Capricorn label,First Time Out; andHigh-Roller;.

From 1978 to 1981, he created a dwelling playing cards. In 1990, Malick came back to songs and went to a Boston home-base, keeping up a hectic tour program. In 1996, Malick introduced two independent records to the Conqueroot/Mr. Cat Records label.

In 2,000, Malick encouraged Norah Jones to join him in New York shows. He went to make her pre-Blue Notice tracks, which became the New York State (record) , launched on Koch Records.

Malick won the WC Handy Award in 2001 for making historical record of the entire year with Otis Spann’s Last-Call: Stay at Boston Tea-Party , the archival closing performance of his mentor.

Malick introduced The Peter Malick Group, Opportunity and Circumstance , in 2003 ( Koch Records ), a collaborative attempt that he functioned as producer, guitarist, and co-author having a couple of powerful female vocal gift, featuring Norah Jones.
