Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins is an Australian singer songwriter, recording artist and performer. Her Australian No.1 records are The Sound of White (2004), On an Obvious Night (2007) and The Ol’ Razzle-Dazzle (2012), and her most effective singles are Scar, The Unique Two, Steer and Where I Stood. Higgins was nominated for five ARIA Audio Awards in 2004 and won ‘Best Pop Launch’ forScar;. In 2005 , she was nominated for seven more honours and won five. Higgins won her seventh ARIA in 2007 Her third record, The Ol’ Razzle-Dazzle , was launched in Australia in June 2012, as well as in July 2012 in the USA

Along with her songs career, Higgins pursues passions in animal-rights as well as the environmental surroundings, endeavouring to produce her excursions carbon neutral This year she produced her performing debut in the feature-film Bran Nue Dae and additionally performed on its soundtrack.

MelissaMissy; Morrison Higgins was created 19 August 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria to Christopher Higgins, an English-Australian doctor , and Margaret ( ne Morrison), an Australian child-care center operator. Her sister, Nicola is seven years old, and brother, David is six years old. She discovered to perform classical piano from age six, following in the footsteps of Christopher and David, but realised she desired to be a vocalist at about 1-2 when she appeared in an Armadale Primary-School production of Andrew Lloyd Webber ‘s musical Joseph and the Incredible Technicolor Dreamcoat Tired of training, she quit playing piano at that time. Trusting for further liberty, she encouraged her parents to deliver her to Geelong Grammar College , a completely independent boarding college attended by her sibs. At Geelong she used the piano again, this time enjoying jazz including executing with David’s team on week ends. She was introverted and discovered that piano training helped her survive with residing at boarding school.

At 15, she composedAll for Considering; for a college music homework and finished it only hours ahead of the deadline. The homework earned an An and she performed her tune before school mates. She approached a Melbourne report company and was informed that they needed more than one tune. She composed more tunes and worked together with the Kool Skools undertaking, which empowers pupils to document music. In 2001, Nicola enteredAll for Considering; on Higgins’ benefit into Unearthed , radio station Triple J ‘s contest for unsigned artists. The tune won the contest and was added to the station’s play-list.
