Keith Sweat

Keith Sweat is an American Ep&B / soul , singer – songwriter , record producer , radio persona and an innovator of New Jack Swing.

Keith Sweat is the son of hair-dresser Juanita Sweat and factory employee Charles Crier. Charles perished in 1973 and her five kids were raised by Juanita only. Sweat attained a Bachelor Of Science in communications from Town College of New York He was employed as a nighttime stock boy at Macy’s and a mailroom clerk at Paine Webber In only four years he labored his way around a successful brokerage helper occupation on a floor of the Nyse. Sweat labored for the commodities industry in the New York Mercantile Trade Sweat sang at clubs throughout New York until he was found and offered a record deal with Elektra Records in 1987.

He got two girls, Keyshia (1990) and Keia (1992). He named his report label, Keia Enjoyment, after his younger daughter. From 1992 until 2002, he was married to Actual Housewives of Atlanta costar Lisa Wu Hartwell. With her, he had sons Jordan (1995) and Justin (1998).

Sweat has complete custody of all of his kids and is a solitary father. He elevated his children in Atlanta, Ga with all aid from his mom. Music vocation 1975–1984: with Jamilah. Sweat began his musical occupation as a part of a Harlem group called & in 1975 &Jamilah. With assistance from Jamilah, Sweat could hone his craft as a direct singer by executing regionally all through the tri state area of The Big Apple , Nj and Ct The group was began by bassist Larry Peoples, guitarist Michael Samuels, and drummer Walter Bradley. Added members of the team comprised Peter DaCosta (singing), Joseph McGeachy (saxophone), Dwight Banks (cornet), and Kenneth Varner (keyboards). 1984–1987: Stadium Records.

After leaving the group in 1984 to start a solo career, he sang at clubs throughout New York State and got an opportunity to record for the independent label, Stadium Records. Sweat recorded just one melody for Arena called My Mind Is Made Up, which was their third ever release, but on Arena’s first release, he is credited as co-author and co-producer of You Are The One For Me, the last record ever made by the group GQ 1 of GQ’s original members is his uncle, Keith Sabu Crier.

Keith Sweat was uncovered by Vincent Davis and offered a record deal with his label, Vintertainment Records, which was founded in 1983 on the foundations of early Hip Hop and otherwise best known for releasing Joeski Love’s Pee Wee Dancing in 1985. Vintertainment was spread by Elektra Records from 1985 until it stopped operations in 1990, in which case Elektra selected to purchase Keith’s contract outright and have him record directly for the label.

On November 25, 1987, Sweat released his debut solo studio album Make It Last Forever , which sold three million copies.
