Jim Weatherly

James Dexter Weatherly (came to life March 1-7, 1943) is an American singer songwriter Weatherly performed quarterback in the College of Mississippi before selecting song writing above a football profession. Weatherly composed tunes which were performed by Ray Cost , Lynn Anderson , Brenda Lee , and Bob Luman , however it’s for the tunes covered by Gladys Knight & the Pips that he is best-known. Knight recorded the Weatherly-written melodies Mid night Train to Ga, Neither One of Us (Desires to Be the First to Say Goodbye), and Greatest Thing That Actually Happened in My Experience.

Weatherly, who had formerly recorded using The Gordian Knot at Verve Records , and also afterwards at RCA Records , was provided a solo recording deal with Buddha Records following the progress ofGa;, and he introduced numerous records in the seventies.
