Gavin Degraw

Gavin Shane DeGraw (came to life February 4, 1977) is an American musician and singer songwriter. He is famous for his tunes Chariot, Follow Through, I Do not wish to Be (which can be the theme music for the tv drama show One Tree Hill ), Deeply In Love With a Woman, Maybe not Over You, Soldier, Sweeter, andGreatest I Actually Had;. DeGraw has offered over a million records in the United States.

DeGraw was raised in the Catskills in South Fallsburg , Ny. His mom, Lynne (ne Krieger), was a detoxification specialist , and his dad, Wayne DeGraw, was a jail guard ; he referenced his dad’s as well as mom’s vocations in the tune I Do not wish to Be. His dad is of Irish descent and his mom’s household is of Russian-Jewish roots. DeGraw started singing and enjoying piano in the period of 8. In addition, he has two older siblings, sister Neeka and brother Joey (came to life August 1973). It was at his brother’s guidance he started composing his own tunes. Joey DeGraw can be a recording artist.

DeGraw grew to popularity in 2003, when I Do not wish to Be was selected as the theme music for teenager drama One Tree Hill The tune has already been performed on American Idol and Idol Sweden by numerous contestants throughout distinct seasons.

DeGraw launched his debut album, Chariot , on July 22, 2003 under J Records Chariot was recorded at La’ audio studios, Sunset Sound and created by Mark Endert Chariot offered more than a million copies and attained platinum certification. He subsequently went to release an acoustic variant of the record called Chariot Stripped in 2004. Chariot Stripped includes a protect version of Sam Cooke ‘s A Change Is Gonna Come.
