Air Supply

Air Supply is an Australian soft-rock duo, comprising British-born singer songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and direct vocalist Australian Russell Hitchcock That they had a series of hits world-wide, including eight top ten hits in the U.s., in the early eighties. They shaped in Australia in 1975 and have contained various accompanying vocalists and musicians. They’ve sold over 100 million records. On 2-4 October 2013 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) declared that Air Supply were to be inducted to their Corridor of Fame on 1 December at precisely the same service as the yearly ARIA Awards Background Foundation and early years: 1975–7 9

Chrissie Hammond , Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell fulfilled in Might 1975 while executing in the Australian creation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, Jesus Christ Super-Star With Hammond and Hitchcock on singing and Russell on guitar, they shaped a harmony vocal team in Melbourne, while the present was nevertheless playing. Hammond left the vocal band to make Cheetah and was changed by Jeremy Paul (ex-Soffrok and afterwards Divinyls) on bass guitar and singing in 1976. Collectively, Hitchcock, Russell and Paul shaped Air Supply. The team’s first single,Love and Other Bruises;, premiered in November, 1976 and peaked at No.6 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Graph in January 1977. It was accompanied by Air Supply , their debut record, in December, which attained No.17 on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart and realized gold in Australia. The record was made by Peter Dawkins ( Spectrum , Ross Ryan ) with Air Supply lineup as Hitchcock, Paul, Russell and drummer Jeff Browne, guitarist Mark McEntee and keyboardist, arranger Adrian Scott. Other singles wereIf You Understood Me;,Empty Webpages; andSense the Wind; but n one attained the Top40. A nationwide tour adopted with Hitchcock, Paul, Russell and Scott joined by Nigel Macara (ex- Tamam Shud , Ariel ) on drums and Brenton White (Skin tight) on guitar.
