Aimee Man

Aimee Mann (came to life September 8, 1960) is an American rock singer songwriter , guitarist and bass player In the eighties, Mann sang in the Boston New-Wave band ‘Til Tuesday till she left to start a solo job in the early nineties. In 1999, Mann recorded first tunes for the soundtrack to the Paul Thomas Anderson movie Magnolia , which is why she was nominated for Oscar and Grammy-Award nominations. She has introduced seven solo albums.

After developing up in Bon Air, Va , and graduating from Open High-School in Richmond, Va in 1978, Mann registered in Berklee School of Audio in Boston She dropped out of Berklee and joined the Boston punk band The Youthful Snakes In 1983 they introduced the EP Bark Along with The Youthful Snakes In 1983 she co-started the New-Wave group ‘Til Tuesday with Berklee classmate and boyfriend Michael Hausman (who went to manage her solo job).

In 1985 the group released Voices Carry , the advent record using a title monitor inspired by Mann’s break-up with Hausman. It won the MTV Video Music Award for Greatest New Artist

In 1986 the group released Welcome House , their sophomore record.

In 1987 she sang singing with Geddy Lee to the tune Time Stand Still by rock-band Rush out of their 1987 record and tour Maintain Your Hearth.
